No air conditioning. Terrible overall service.
Upon arrival at Novotel Geelong on Sunday, January 19, 2025 after a 16-hour flight from the US, we were notified upon check-in, that the air conditioning was not working and had not been working for several days. We were told we could cancel our reservation and receive a full refund, however, because we travelled so far and so long for a family funeral, we were in no condition to have to find a different hotel. We checked out Friday, January 24, 2025, and the air conditioning was never fixed. The only thing offered to us was free $40/day valet parking of our rental car. The service at the hotel was terrible. You have to request to have your room serviced by 9:30 pm the night before. They do not tell you this as you check-in. We happened to have seen it on a flyer that we were given that outlined the hotel restaurant, etc. When we did have our room serviced, they did not replace dirty glasses, take away dirty towels, provide additional toilet paper, restock tea/coffee, etc. When I gave the front desk clerk a list of items that we needed that would have been part of the room servicing we would expect, we were given the look of utter disappointment with our request. We have stayed at this hotel before, the last time being September 2022 and it was acceptable then. It has truly gone downhill since then.
