Great base camp
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. We were in the area hunting and was using the hotel as a base camp and resting station. It was great. There was a small issue with the TV. But I let the front desk know and they offered to put us in a different room but the problem wasn't big enough for us to move rooms.

If you like no frills, this is your place!
Well, it was a warm shower with a bed and blankets. No fluff. A little pricey, but it is Taos. We were able to park outside the front door each time we left. Breakfast was coffee/tea, cereal, fruit, yogurt and waffles. Upon walking into our room, the lights were on and the toilet "sanitized" cover was askew, so maybe someone took one look at the room, used the bathroom and said no thanks! There was hair on the bed and no remote or local channels to watch, once I figured out there was a button on the TV to turn it on. Our door was a little rickety, but had that security arm to hold it when we were inside. When we came down the stairs the next morning, there was an open can of beer on the stairs. But like I said, no frills. if you need a shower and a place to rest your head, this is your hotel.

The rooms were small and a noisy hotel. There were people smoking marijuana every night for my entire 5 night stay in the parking lot and near the lobby entrance, which stunk enormously.

We stayed for one night, a Saturday night in September 2024.. This property is expensive and is a dump. It is way overdue for a makeover. Although the beds were comfortable, my mattress had a stain on the side. The rooms get dusty and were minimally furnished. We had a suite with one room with two queens and one room with one king. The smoke alarm started going off in the middle of the night in the room with the king.it was too high for us to reach. We called the desk to no answer. The next day. the clerk said someone from maintenance wouldn’t be in until Monday to fix it. When I checked in. the clerk wanted my driver’s license and did not return it There was no note on my door and it was not returned when I checked out I discovered it was gone on Sunday night, after I had returned to Albuquerque. I called and spent an hour on the phone talking to the clerk,who kept putting me on hold. She said she would overnight it to me, as I was flying home on Weds. She could not get my name. phone number or the address where to send the license to, correct. She then asked me to e-mail it to the motel, which I did, The next morning, my friends and I decided we couldn’t trust this motel so we planned a trip back to Taos to pick up my license.This was five hour round trip. We went to pick it up, the clerk pulled out a pile of at least 10 other driver’s licenses, so keeping people’s licenses is something they routinely do. Do not stay at this motel unless it is a last resort.

Disappointed
I am disappointed with the hotel, I will not be staying there again. I could write a list of bad issues if I had the time. One good thing was an employee who could see for himself the problems did his best to make the stay better.

Horrible! I arrived at 12:15, was told to come back at 3 to check in. At 3 there were no clean rooms, but 5 people in black were standing around not cleaning rooms. At 4 I finally got a room, many others were still waiting. In the morning I went down for breakfast after 6 when breakfast was supposed to be served. Nothing was there, there was no one at the counter. I was supposed to stay for 3 days, I stayed for 2 and was happy to get out! Would not recommend to anyone!
