Unfortunately the bathroom in our first room was very dilapidated. It had black mould around the bath, shower, taps and shower gel dispensers. The toilet was stained. Not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The second room that we were moved to was only marginally better, still with traces of black mould in the bathroom.
Our late check was also declined on the morning of our booking despite asking for it 6 weeks before, and it being a major factor in why I booked here in the first place. They would not refund our booking so that we could move to another hotel. The duty manager was very dismissive and unaccommodating.
The other reason for booking for this hotel was for the pool, of which was closed on our arrival with no pre-warning. We were offered use of a another hotels pool a shuttle bus away, not really ideal in minus degree weather with a toddler.
Overall, the downstairs areas were well presented. But the accommodation levels felt run down and 'cheap'.
Very disappointing. I would not stay here again.
