Prison Cell chic
On entering the room we were met with the aroma of cotton candy which we discovered came from a plug-in, in an attempt to disguise the stench of stale cigarette smoke.
FYI - Smoking on the balcony is permitted.
Furniture was mismatched and shabby which only added to the sad and depressing feel provided by the dark grey paint of the doorway. The 1000 watt lightbulbs in the bedside lamps, which were blinding and only highlighted the dust, grime and fluff on surfaces all around the room.
The bathroom had a very unusual layout. The shower was cramped with poor water pressure and I was able to look out onto people on their balconies whilst sitting on the toilet.
Unfortunately, I had been duped by the photos and reviews on the website as this Queen room looked NOTHING like any of the images online.
On departure, the receptionist did not even say ‘Did you enjoy your stay’ which I would have thought was a basic courtesy.
On a positive note……. the beach is magnificent and the steak sandwich at the surf club was delicious.
