Appreciated the pre-communication, texts. Good check in system (key lock boxes for late arrival). I had to be moved because of plumbing problem, into tiny single, but paid for double suite with amenities- no discount. No coffee pot or hairdryer. Room very clean, heat worked well.

I have stayed at the Minecart motel on several occasions. The cost of stay is very competitive. The rooms are very clean and the room is furnished nicely. The beds are very comfortable. Parking is right in front of the room entry door, which is very convenient. The room includes a microwave and small refrigerator. It would have been better if there was an in-room coffee maker.

We were scammed at this hotel!! Do not book here! When we arrived at the given location ( we received an email from the hotel to check-in at a different location) but the door was closed and nobody was there. We phoned the hotel twice and left a message. We than waited another 20 minutes and left, this to look for a different hotel. We than contacted Expedia, to explain what happened. We were told that we should have waited there and that there was no way to get our prepayment back. I am totally dissapointed in this hotel AND the expedia service. Gold member for more than 10 years, but unsure now if i will continue with them

A nice little motel for a great price. The rooms were on the smaller side but nicely upgraded. The manager was very pleasant and had a great overnight stay while visiting family in the area.

Friendly and efficient staff. The upgrade to the property has fallen short. The tub facet is not in place. One small mirror in the bathroom is not helpful for two people.

Ups and Downs
The room was small, but clean. The bathroom light was outside of the bathroom and behind the door, so you had to turn it on, blast light into the room, and then go in. It wasn't very convenient at all. The floor had a definite slant to it and felt as if you were walking downhill. Our key card didn't work the first night we came back from dinner, so I went to the office to get it taken care of. There was nobody in the office, but there was a phone to call and get someone to help you. Nobody answered the phone, so I went back to our car and texted the owner for assistance. I never got a reply. A few minutes later, I walked back up to the office to see if the clerk returned. The person in there, must have been the owner, was very irritated that I texted and called, saying that he was only gone for a few minutes. His reaction was rude and enough to make me not want to stay here again. Beware that there isn't always somebody on the premises and that if you require assistance, they may be annoyed with you. I'm sure he wasn't annoyed with the money I spent there. Plus side - it's close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Good for a quick inexpensive stay
Was needing a place for 1 noght and didnt want to spend too much. For an inexpensive and quick overnight stay the motel was nice and we were happy with the property.
