Oh no! We don’t allow cats
When we arrived and was told that cats were not allowed we panicked as we were traveling from Massachusetts and had no where else to go. I had searched for pet friendly resorts and the Westgate came up and I booked it. The staff was so understanding and did allow us to stay. We had a great stay and are disappointed we will no longer be able to revisit.

We arrived at the hotel at 4 to check in and was told our room was not cleaned yet. Well, we finally received our room key at 5:15!! After a long day of travel and paying as much as we did for a week stay, we were very irritated. After walking into the room, we see the floors were not cleaned. Everything else looked fine though so we didn’t complain and just wore shoes in the room during our entire stay. The hotel is nice and the staff is friendly. The outdoor bartender Corey and restaurant bartender Miguel were awesome! Be very prepared to spend A LOT of money if you are staying here. The drinks and food are not cheap! Also, this resort is CASHLESS! We were never advised of that until we ordered a drink at the outdoor bar. I feel like this should have been disclosed at booking and check in but I digress. Also, the music inside the resort and outside is extremely loud. If you plan on having conversations with others, sit right next to them and be able to read lips. Overall, we made the best of our stay. We had a king ocean view room and our view was so nice! Will we stay here again? No. There are more affordable options in the area with more amenities.

Expensive for dirty hotel.
The shower was dirty. There were many long black hairs on the shower curtain. My sister and I both have very short gray hair. There is now a $40 extra charge for having room straightened and fresh sheets or towels. The front desk clerks were downright rude. I have stayed at this resort several times before, but I will not be spending this much money for a room again at Westgate Resort. There are too many hotels on the beach to choose from.

We had good expectations from the place but once we got there noticed the room wasn’t properly cleaned. We stayed 4 nights and per the new protocols there was no housekeeping til we unoccupied the room. But we could have it clean if we paid a fee!!! The AC was not properly working and there was faul smell at times. Other than that pools were great and so was the staff. Will reconsider staying there again but at the end of the day you get what you paid for lol

It was quite dirty . The glass was foggy, bathroom had pee all over the bottom of the toliet. The furniture was all scratched and dirty. The tub and sink had hair. The overnight staff lady was bland and not welcoming at all. Very rude, my work trip ended 2 days early and I booked for 3 and paid in full and she was rude about me checking out early even though I didn’t ask for a refund or voucher or anything. Kinda unpleasant experience for my first time in SC.
