I would not recommend off-season visits, and choosing the cheapest room.
The area and zoo was cut off, and I could barely go for a walk in the otherwise beautiful area, given it was all part of their mini-zoo.
I chose the cheapest 1 bed room, and it was facing a road and parking, that was quite noisy and had a lot of car lights shine in. Not a room for people who want to sleep past 6.
Choose a room with a view of the lake, which is quite beautiful, and enjoy the family friendly self-service restaurant and start the day in the zoo with your children. Then continue your roadtrip.
Hotel is perfect for exactly this.
IF you are travelling for business purposes, I would not really recommend this hotel. Not unless you sleep like a rock and just need a bed on the road.
