All rooms face the Pacific Ocean with a balcony. Rooms are one bedroom studios with a sofa, desk, dining table, and lots of draws. There is a bar sink, microwave, and mini refrig in the kitchen. There is another sink and split height counter next to the entry door. The bathroom is across this entry counter and is not cramped for space. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
The tv in the kitchen is an out-dated tube. However, there is a flat screen in the bedroom.
Rooms are not upgraded to charge electronics. Bring chargers that plug into outlets. Wi-fi is spotty. Great if you have 4G or 5G.
Out of coffee and facial tissues. They did provide shampoo, but only 1 tiny bar soap.
The restaurant has been closed for years and still waiting for new management to do something about it.
The Shilo Inn has the potential to be a premier hotel. If it is upgraded and become a full service experience for guests, it could easily become Ocean Shore's premier accommodation. However, that said, the rates will undoubtedly go up.
Meanwhile, owner and management is doing their best with what they have. I do hope they stay in business because we sure like staying at the Shilo Inn.
