Iconic Hotel and Location
We were in Berlin for the World Money Fair. 3 night stay at the Adlon.
The location is perfect for any first time visitor - right adajacent to Brandedburg Gate.
Check-in was a nice welcome, although as we were early one room wasn't ready. No mention of upgrade, despite my top level of expedia loyalty. No probs, though.
The room was fairly average, despite paying for third best option. Two single beds instead of the requested king bed.
The room keys are pathetic. Someone on a 'green crusade' has decided to make the room keys these thin cardboard type things that soon get ruined or soaked if in a damp roibe. They need to go back to plastic room key cards and forget the silly green climate saving options.
The spa at the hotel opened again a few months ago. The steam room is excellent.
The restaurant on ground floor in the hotel is good food and service. Breakfast is on mezzenine floor - it is a substantial offering. Good service.
The bar is in the main lobby area. It gives the hotel a more homely feel.
