Really enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. The history behind it is very fascinating and the decorations went along with that. The front staff Carrie was so super friendly if we are ever in Placerville, we would stay here again.

Cute Victorian lobby

Very pretty Victorian hotel. Very convenient to walk and stay in town. The lobby is lovely. The room wasn’t keeping with the theme. The beds were fairly comfortable. There was no microwave. There was a small stove but non pots or any kitchen accessories, so no way to warm or cook anything. The room was very clean, the receptionist was very. Ice and helpful.

We love the Cary House! Needed a late last minute stay when our well pump kicked it and we wanted a hot shower. Rooms are cute and unique, hot water pressure was fantastic- the whole hotel has a ton of character! Great location too- excellent food and coffee options right out the front door.

A historic hotel, excellent proximity to walkable restaurants and shops. I enjoy the two separate bedrooms for my family. I would have been happier with a less-saggy mattress (bed comfort weighs heavily in my ratings). Bathroom and linens were clean. Shower squealed during use. This is an excellent and affordable waypoint between Tahoe and the SF Bay.
