Poor check-in experiences
We stayed at this resort before and after an UnCruise adventure. The first time, hotels.com had promised a bottle of wine because we were silver members. We had to ask for it, it arrived late. The second time, check-in was horrible. We arrived early and understood that we would have to wait until check-in time to get our room. At 3:00 PM, we got in line, 30 minutes later, we were told the room was not ready. The line wait was similar to our first check in. At 4:00 PM, we asked again and after 20 minutes of rapid typing and no explanation, we were given a room that was an upgrade. So, went there, and one hour later, other guests opened our door because they also were assigned our room. Inexcusable! We also felt that the orientation to the resort was poor or non-existent. No map given, had to wait in line to ask how to find their restaurants. Tour companies like Road Scholar and others given preferential treatment.
We did like breakfast/lunch buffets, but dinner reservations were difficult and the Italian food was only OK (service was good). To be fair, we aren't resort people, I laughed at the sign that said don't use the pool if under the influence of alcohol -- they had a swim up bar! Baha Sur is very interesting, we did enjoy UnCruise.
