Decent hotel but needs better cleaning

The hotel was decent. Staff was very friendly and nice and breakfast was good. My only issue was the cleanliness. Our room had not been vacuumed at all. It still has food crumbs and things in the floor from the last guest. Bathroom wasn’t very clean either. There was a noticeable dog smell through the hotel also. Other than the cleaning issues the rest was fine.

The room and front desk were great. There was no breakfast in the morning. The young man working in the kitchen should be praised for trying to be attentive to our needs. He got left holding the bag and facing the public. The answer we received was that the delivery truck had not come yet, so they were out of food, except bacon. Very poor planning on management's part. Worst i have ever encountered.

We got there and check in was good. It all changed after that. The room smelled, the window was covered in mold and mildew, the blind was all tattered, the bathroom floor was dirty, the shower curtain was so short it almost didn’t even touch the top of the tub and the sink had a hard time emptying. I pointed out all the issues to the front desk and had to run out to a military commissioning for my son. I asked them not to go up to the room without contacting my significant other by phone before going to the room. Before I could even call her, they were already up to the room and took a lot of time moving the shower curtain rod to accommodate the short curtain. After all of that with three guys in the room with her, they put on a longer shower curtain anyhow. and just to top it off the pool was completely green. One of the worst hotel stays. And it was a terrible area around the hotel. It was an industrial area.

This was a pleasure trip with my sister I travel for work daily and stay in Dothan a lot but this holiday Inn is very nice beds are comfortable that’s a must but don’t always get it also loved the bathtub also something nicer hotels don’t have so thank you! Was a great stay!
