We had a one-night stay at the hotel due to flight changes. Upon checking out at 5 AM, we were charged $31.31 for dinner the night before, but the receptionist accidentally charged $3,131 instead. We only noticed the error when he printed the receipt. He was unhelpful and did not seem to understand what he had done. He couldn’t process a refund on the spot and claimed he would address it with his colleagues at 7 AM. He assured us we would get our money back.
Now, 1.5 months later, after numerous calls and WhatsApp messages, we have only received $2,900 back. The remaining $200 is a bank fee that the hotel refuses to cover, despite it being entirely their fault. They have since stopped responding to our messages and calls.
Regarding the hotel itself, the experience was equally poor. The bed was as hard as a rock, akin to sleeping on the floor. At the pool/restaurant area, there was only one toilet, which was filthy, clogged with diarrhea, and couldn’t flush, forcing guests to use their room bathrooms instead. At dinner, several menu items were “sold out” despite us dining early at 5 PM as the only guests in the restaurant. To make matters worse, we ended up with food poisoning from the meal.
