Great hotel right in the centre of La Paz, the staff were super friendly and so helpful with booking local trips and excursions. The room was comfortable, clean, warm, and cosy - what was really needed right after exploring the city!

The hotel is ideally located. Very close to majority of the attractions and almost all the tours will start from there. Breakfast is decent with a wonderful view. Room is spacious and comfortable. 2 things to be improved: bathroom floor can get wet and takes time to dry, room cleaning wasn’t done for 2 days until I ask the reception.

If you are looking for an amazing location near downtown La Paz, the Illampu Art Boutique Hotel is a great choice. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a wonderful breakfast with fantastic views of the city. The staff was incredibly helpful. Jimena helped us with everything from taxis to tours to finding places to eat. We felt extremely welcomed at this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The building and rooms were really lovely, clean, and well finished. What really set this hotel apart for us was the staff and hospitality! We had two stays booked at Illampu, before and after a tour to the Uyuni salt flats. I had left a suitcase stored with the hotel during our tour. Unfortunately, due to the protests in La Paz, we weren't able to make it back for our second reservation and had to fly directly to La Paz airport and then leave the country on our flights home shortly after. The hotel manager and staff communicated with me quickly, clearly, and continuously over a couple days to coordinate getting my suitcase to the airport. They coordinated a driver to meet me after our domestic flights with my bag, and confirmed I received it. Our first night there we were impressed with how nice everything was and how modern and clean the hotel was, but I was completely blown away by how amazing the staff was by the end of our time in Bolivia. Highly recommend this lovely hotel!

The hotel was fantastic. The room was excellent and the views from the restaurant over the entire city were amazing. I cannot praise the staff enough, they couldn’t be more helpful. There is a lot of political unrest in La Paz at the moment with many governments advising against travel, we decided to go anyway, staying for just 2 nights and do not regret the decision. The hotel was excellent, they arranged a pick up from the airport and a taxi for the return and were in contact throughout via WhatsApp. We stayed mainly in the tourist areas, such as the witches market and riding the Teleférico cable cars and felt safe enough, and made sure not to go anywhere where we knew there were active protests, such as around Plaza Murillo and government buildings. The people there are friendly and really appreciative of tourists supporting local businesses and restaurants which are really suffering. There are clearly issues that can been seen such as the huge queues for fuel and food shortages for certain items that are not able to get through the blockades, but nothing that directly impacted us to a great extent. The only direct impact was in getting back to the airport. We had to have a 5am pick up (and subsequently a 4 hour wait in the airport) as after this time there are blockades which prevent any access by road to the airport.. a small price to pay! If you do plan a trip to La Paz, be sure to stay in this hotel, you will not regret it!
