While the hotel itself was nice, the service throughout the stay was not. My debit card was authorized for the price of the stay as well as $500 for incidentals. I have worked for the Marriott company before and can honestly say that I have never seen such a high incidental charge. Throughout the stay, the front desk continued to try to charge my card anywhere from $100 to $280, every day. When I asked for clarification they said that it was for the incidentals to remain at $500 since my parking had been applied each night and was taken from my incidentals and they needed to keep a certain balance. Mind you, I was not told this beforehand and ended up having to eat hot dogs in my hotel room for most of my stay, as well as cancel most of the things we were supposed to do because they had charged me so much. My wife and I were there for a belated honeymoon, and ended up stressing about money the entire time we were there, which did not allow us to have the romantic trip we had hoped. Finally, we were trying to check out, and went to breakfast, when we went back to the room they had locked us out and insisted that I pay another $280 before they’d let me in to get my belongings. This situation lasted over an hour and caused immense stress, no one wants to be treated like a criminal or a low life, especially when I had already OVERPAID with $500 incidentals. This station quite frankly ruined our trip, and we will not be going back.
