Great day trip location. Shop around for things to do. Punting, food etc. take some time to wonder and look at the architecture. Museums are small collections - not capital city scale. An hour each for zoology, archaeology etc. some great coffee too.

Cambridge is a beautiful vibrant city with lots to see and do. A highlight for us was punting which we did through the Traditional Punting Company. Our guide was brilliant and we learned some of the interesting history about the city and its colleges

Cambridge is a must-see City, with a history and architecture as good as it gets. There's plenty of choices for food of just about any nationality, and the nightlife is friendly. I recommend the Fitzwilliam Museum for it's eclectic collections.

If you want to take a punt along the river then don't take the first price offered. Within a 5 minute conversation the priced dropped by £10 per person for us, plus it's very easy to walk around the city and see the sights.

Besides the reputation of the university, it is a very lovely walkable town filled with wonderful architecture, history and culture, good food and friendly people. Worth spending at least a day or two there.
