This is normally my go to when transiting through Nairobi. Unfortunately this stay was very unpleasant. A colleague got stranded in Nairobi with an overnight layover and being a Marriott member I assisted and reserved/paid for a one night stay. Shortly after checkin (close to midnight) had to inform staff that the shower was dirty and littered with “cut short hairs” throughout. The staff was nice enough to change rooms but for a hotel of this caliber, that was unacceptable not withstanding the fact that that it was midnight. Finally, I paid for the room and chose that hotel as a Marriott member and wanted credit for the one night. Was informed because the person using the room isn’t the Marriott member, I could not receive rewards credit albeit this has been acceptable previously when I travel….worldwide. This compounded the bad experience and will shape my hotel selections moving forward. If I’m supporting my “team”, I expect my “team” to support me in return.
