Terrible service - I tried to call multiple phone numbers and messaging processes to let the 24/7 desk know I was going to be late; I was unable to get through to the point I had to stay elsewhere and pay a hideous amount for a last-minute stay; I’m still waiting to hear back about a refund but hotels.com can’t even get a hold of the company.

Unconfortable

The matress are horibly unconfortables. Spring matress and you feel all of them! On text description, App 4 don't include kitchen (only refrigerator and microwave) but on picture, you mention a private kitchen. That mislead us as there was none cookware at all. don't say private kitchen if you need to bring your own cookware... I would stay at an hotel instead. It was to be in family. But only one 3 places sofa and a small 4 seats table for a family of six. it wasn't worth it.

It was terrible. The building that was showing on the website wasn’t what we got. We got a old building with dirty walls suite, cheap bed and pillows. Dirty toilet and very old tub. It wasn’t clean properly.

The room was very old, the bathroom was dirty, and the ventilation hadn’t been cleaned. The bed smelled bad and was extremely uncomfortable. For the price we paid, we could have stayed at a much better place.

Great value

Great value, convenient access to train and free parking. Bed is not very comfortable and toiletries are basic, I also couldn’t get access to a hair dryer even though it said available upon request. Overall great stay and would stay here again. Be aware there is no air conditioning.

Hotel? More like run down dorm.

Staying at the SAIT Hotel in Calgary was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at any accommodation. When we arrived, two of the four elevators were already out of service. By the second day, the remaining two also broke down. In a 22-floor building, that’s absolutely unacceptable. They said they might have them working by the next morning. No backup plan, no communication, nothing. Because of this, we were forced to take the stairs down 15 flights, and then got completely locked in the basement. The woman we spoke to on the phone failed to mention that only one of the two fire exits was actually usable. I have a dislocated kneecap — this was not just inconvenient, it was dangerous. No one came to help us. We eventually made it out on our own, with zero support from the front desk. To make matters worse, management didn’t notify guests at all. No signs, no emails — and when I asked why, the staff claimed they “had no way to contact us.” On top of that, the kitchen light went out on day two and wasn’t fixed until after we checked out. The beds were uncomfortable dorm beds with flat pillows and thin sheets, everything felt cheap, neglected, and poorly maintained. There’s also no air conditioning, no ice machines, no phone, no basic amenities, and zero effort to make guests feel safe or comfortable. This place should not be operating.

Flott alternativ til hotell i sentrum

Veldig bra alternativ til dyrere hoteller i sentrum. Sait ligger i gangavstand, hvis man orker en fin tur langs elva ut til området. Trikker i nærheten dersom man ikke vil gå. Hyggelig resepsjonist, veldig hjelpsom. Bra rom, men med en uvanlig høy seng. Kjøkken uten noe utstyr, men frokost inkludert så ikke noe stort savn. Frokost er ok, men ikke noe mer enn det.

Cost-Effective But Trade-Offs

We stayed at the SAIT hotel during a conference in Calgary, where most hotels were either fully booked or overpriced. SAIT is part of a college dormitory, so be prepared for a more basic experience. The rooms have spring mattresses, cement floors, and no in-room hair dryers. In the afternoon, we noticed smoke smells coming through the vents—likely from students smoking in nearby dorms, despite posted no-smoking signs. Breakfast is included, but very minimal: think yogurt, dry muffins, toast, apples or oranges, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, no protein for breakfast, and something that resembles juice (watered-down colored liquid from a dispenser with ice). The scrambled eggs were especially disappointing—tasted from a carton cooked in a microwave. I recommend planning your breakfast off-site. A parking pass is provided, but the lot is about a 10-minute walk from the dorms. On the plus side, the facility is secure—you need a key card for elevator access and building entry. Naturally, just be mindful not to engage with the student population. In summary, if you’re okay with dorm-style living and want something budget-friendly and safe, SAIT is a practical choice. Otherwise, it may be worth spending more for a traditional hotel experience.

Good stay

It was a comfortable accommodation and for what I was looking for since I was travelling alone. The breakfast was good too, I was only surprised its same array of options daily. The room was fairly warm and the hot/cold water system was functional. The city view from my room was great too, I loved it. The ease of access to train/bus stations also made my commute simpler. I do wish they can make cooking utensils available in the rooms. Basic such as pots, spoons, etc. since there is already a cooker available.

This is a dorm- it was great that we had 4 room for the 5 of us BUT there was no way 2 adults fit on the beds comfortably. They are small double beds and like hospital beds- they are also up in the air as they have room under to store items. The only thing I would like to see them add is a TV and maybe some kitchen ware (coffee maker would be amazing). We ate the breakfast 1 morning- not good. The area is cute but it is a walk to the train or parking. We did use the laundry room and it was really nice!
