Chincoteague Inn
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at The Chincoteague Inn for the 100th Annual Pony Swim! The renovated rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff was great.
The location works well, especially since the Pony Express Trolley stops right out front. We were also able to walk back from the Carnival Grounds in the evening with a stop at the Island Creamery (a must) which is right around the corner from the Inn.
Areas for improvement: wish there was an outside shower at the pool to rinse off. Also the refrigerator in room 301 definitely needs to be replaced—it worked but there was mold around the seams…ick.
We would stay again without hesitation."
"My husband were here for a two night stay and we have stayed here previously. We really like the location and the easy walk into town. It's close to a fun outdoor tiki bar, several restaurants, and many cute shops with lots of things by local artists. Our large room was very, very clean and comfortable. The reason I gave it only 4 stars for staff is that when we checked out in the morning, the staff on duty did not acknowledge us at all and we were turning in the key at the counter - face to face! No good morning or smile or anything. There was a personable young guy that checked us in and if it had only been him, I would have given 5 stars for staff. Other staff we passed during out stay were also friendly."

"Our family vacation was the week of the annual pony swim. Despite the fact that the hotel was extremely busy, the 100th anniversary swim, the staff was more than accommodating. They were extremely helpful and kind and polite. They went above and beyond. We even got a phone call about a half hour after check-in to make sure we settled in ok and if we needed anything! It's these little things that go a long way!
Breakfast was excellent each morning with a variety of foods. The rooms were clean and in excellent shape. It was more than spacious for the 6 of us! Both indoor and outdoor pools were great!
Kids went fishing off the pier, although they didn't catch anything. Hotel within walking distance to little park as well as some wonderful shops on the main street. "
