We love Payson! We drive up from the valley several times a year and usually do one longer stay. Lots of hiking options with plenty of water areas. We love water wheel because of the water falls. Tonto creek is always a fun, easier area to explore.

Payson is a cute, small town and a gateway to the nearby Mogollon Rim which is a beautiful park with lovely views along the top. There are plenty of dining choices and a Walmart, so it has everything you would need.

If you're out at night, be mindful. There are elk, javelina, and coyotes that wander through the streets! I think it's awesome. Just keep your eyes open 😁

Love this small, sweet city. We visited the Shroom Room which was delightful. Lots of healthy options for teas and coffee and smoothies. We also visited El Rodeo Mexican. Yummmm. Wagon wheel trail is amazing! So beautiful. Watch out for flood alerts.

It was within walking distance to several restaurants. Green Valley Park on Main St was a nice place to go for a walk and had a splash pad and playground for kids

Nice quiet town, great get away from Phoenix thats close...Very friendly people
"Went looking for a pet-friendly place to stay in Payson. This was an amazing option. Went for the premium to have a larger space. That we got in spades! Both a front and back door for access to a puppy-friendly area. It was lovely. We only had one complaint...there wasn't a plug close to the lovely desk. Instead a multi-function was beside the bed against the wall. Otherwise, we had a lovely couch, fireplace and in-room jacuzzi!"
"Had an amazing two-night stay here. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. The area is beautiful and the weather was a nice escape from the heat. The front desk has movies and board games available, which is great. The short walk to the creek is worth it for the calming noise and great views."
"We spent 1 night here and it was great. The hotel is old but very clean. Rooms are big, breakfast better than expected, plenty of parking, great location and receptionist was very friendly. "
