A Connecting Stay

There are better options.
I booked this hotel 2 months in advance for the week and was told check in was at 3pm. Well when I went to check in at 3pm they stated my room was not available and that if I wanted to get into a room now I’d have to take a room of less value. I did not wish to wait any longer to check into a room I wanted to start my vacation. I was never given the difference between the room I payed for and the lesser room. I purchased the better room for a reason not to just be put in a different room and not refunded. Also they said if I got a car it’d be 65$ to park my car instead of the advertised 40$ to park because I chose to go through a website that was not them for the purchase of my stay. Upon check in they also made me place a 50$ deposit instead of taking it from the balance from the old room and I’ve still yet to receive that back. Other than that rough start the stay was good nothing fancy but room worked for sleeping.

Excellent shuttle and close to the airport (.7 miles to the airport rental car and very walkable. Located near heavy road noise is that is an issue.

Shuttle service failure.
The phone number on the reservation was called to obtain a shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel. The operator (a computer?) said the shuttle ran every 15 - 20 minutes. After waiting 40 minutes without a shuttle appearing we called the local hotel number and they sent a shuttle over. This means the primary phone number given for the shuttle service did not activate a shuttle ride.

Three Night Stay
One of the elevators was out of service which made it challenging to get up and down quickly especially with luggage. The day we needed airport transport there were so many people waiting and not enough shuttles to get us there on time. The front desk did however, order some taxis to help get us all to the airport at their cost. I think it may help to have people sign up at reception for the airport transport so the hotel would know before hand how many people would need transport and could plan accordingly. Breakfast was very good with so many choices. I need dairy free options so I’d suggest having a dairy free milk for coffee and cereals and perhaps cook the scrambled eggs without milk. The pool area was nicely set up as well. This hotel is still a good choice for being close to the airport.

Bathtub wasn’t drain. Air conditioning is very noisy. They tried to charge everything extra for no reason. I booked the room thru hotel.com. I don’t know this room don’t have the elevator. I can’t carry my luggage to my room on 2nd floor, they charged me $20 extra to have room with elevator. They told me that room was assigned by hotel.com???

Over priced
This is an overpriced mediocre building. They dont have a restaurant and cant even provide free coffee. They have a Cafe that opens at 5 am and went to get a hot tea that cost a ridiculous amount for basically a tea bag. The free breakfast that opened at 7 was a completely chaotic. Although it was a decent size room they ran out of seating and food was barely warm when we got ours. A regular 4 slice toaster for the hoards of people seemed a bit ridiculous. Either a commercial toaster or at least 2 of the regular ones would have been more appropriate. But even after paying too much for a room, they state that it would be another ridiculous amount to have a car there for the night. The windows were filthy also. And we were placed in a two story building with no elevator so had to haul our luggage all up stairs. Do not recommend this place at all.

Rude and dirty
Booked one room for our family and another for three students on a field trip. Informed the hotel of the three students’ names and arrival times and the hotel was unwilling to let the students in despite speaking with me on the phone and despite numerous invitations to read their communications from Expedia. Students had to sit in their dingy and over-air conditioned lobby for hours while the manager was “on lunch break.” The height of unprofessionalism. To boot, the hotel is located under a highway overpass. Feels like John Belushi’s apartment in Blues Brothers.

Hotel overwhelmed
Do not stay here without checking if both elevators are working. This facility needs an upgrade to include at least 2 more elevators in case one is down because of the elevator also serving the parking garage and service personnel. There is only a 2 hour window for breakfast but by 0830 am all the hot food was gone, no butter for toast, no coffee and 20 people in line to make waffles which only got longer by 9am when the breakfast area was technically closed. A staff member obligingly made more coffee stating there were only 2 people cooking and restocking breakfast for probably 500 guests. Only there was no replenishing of any food, fruit yogurt or hot food in the last 15-30 min. Just dry cereal and sandwich bread. This after 10 minute wait for an elevator to get down from the 9th floor

Both sides of the hotel face the highway. Can hear loud cars throughout the night. Not enough hot water for showers. Water becomes lukewarm after a few minutes. Sink drains slowly. One elevator was out of order. Everyone had to wait 10+ minutes to take the one remaining elevator. Some people, myself included, ended up taking the stairs.
