Very good
I had a lovely stay in Maxwell del Mar. My room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and it was very close to a lovely beach. Bus stops are right outside the hotel and it was a very good option for a solo traveler.

Great location
We spent two nights here. The hotel has a good location between Oistins Fish Fry and Lawrence gap. It's a 5 minutes walk to the beach. The receptionist that recieved us, was suuuper, he was polite, professionel, helpful and gave good local tips, we needed an extra blanket for the night, he fixed it right away. The room was nice, but we missed blackout curtains and it is quite noisy from the street in the morning with big trucks etc.

Everything we needed
We enjoyed our stay at Maxwell del Mar. Staff are friendly and having a small bar/restaurant on-site was helpful for breakfast and drinks. The pool is small but enough to sit around and occasional dips. Best is really the location. It’s not right down on the St Lawrence Gap strip, but that’s only a 15 minute walk away, where there are plenty of bars and Dover Beach where you can easily swim with turtles. There’s also bus stops right outside the hotel from which you can easily get to Bridgetown, Holetown etc, and in the other direction Oistins (which is only a 20-25 min walk, great for the Friday night fish market).

Hal and the other Wait staff are gems, the House Keeper however marred what would have been an excellent stay. I was there for four nights and my room was cleaned once and only after I asked, despite the in room literature indicating that it would be cleaned daily. Literature within the room also provides other outdated information such as closing times for the onsite restaurant and many menu items were not available.

I recently stayed at Maxwell and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. Mister Hal was amazing treated me like family. The waitress at the restaurant was nice. Nadia who checked me in accommodated us we were greatful. I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

The Great Hidden GEM of Barbados
The Maxwell Del Mar represents the pride of Barbados. The cleanliness of my room was a sight to see. The pool was also gorgeous-blue-sunlight. But if you really want to understand what makes this hotel so special, it is a warm and welcoming staff that caters to your every need. The leader of this incredible team is Mr. Hal Haynes, who borders on Barbados royalty. A statesmen in every sense of the word, Mr. Haynes is a stately gentleman reminiscent of a bygone era when respect and dignity ruled the day. I also thank Nadia and Matthew for their superb service. Stay in this wonderful Barbados hotel before you cannot get a reservation!

Customer service was excellent.. Staff were very responsive to guest needs, caring and polite. The gentleman at the bar, Hal, went beyond the call of duty and provided the best 5-star service you can imagine. My room was small but very clean and quite comfortable. Perfect location along a main thoroughfare so very easy to get public transportation. It’s as close as you would get to a home away from home. I highly recommend and would certainly stay there again.
