We stayed at Vertus Edit Canary Wharf for 6 days. While there were some positives, it was unfortunately very uncomfortable. Despite the property being brand new, there was no AC or cooling/fan system. During our stay, temps reached 32C and the room had poor ventilation. My friend, who has severe asthma was struggling due to the heat. We raised this with the front desk the next morning, explaining it was a potential health risk. Surprisingly, there was little urgency or assistance-just a mention that fans had been ordered but they don’t know when these will arrive. It wasn't until we spoke with Adlea, the night duty manager, that we received real help. She very kindly provided a Dyson fan, showed us how to unlock the window fully for better airflow, and offered a partial refund. Her assistance was much appreciated but our discomfort continued throughout the stay.
Housekeeping was virtually non-existent. The room wasn't cleaned once, bins weren't emptied and clean towels were only provided upon request. While we understand aparthotels can offer limited service, we've stayed in similar properties that provided much better support and basic amenities such as fans/AC even in colder cities/countries.
The location is a plus, but the lack of AC, poor ventilation and minimal assistance with a health issue made for a really uncomfortable. Suitable only for very short stays.
