Good place for a few nights out of the immediate hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The room I had contained everything I needed for a decent stay, and the laundry services were handy to have.
The communal area overlooks the river and has different areas to sit in which is good if you fancy a change from your room. The traffic outside can be noisy although I think that's pretty standard throughout Bangkok.

great value!
Great hotel with good location. Bangkok is a place where walking is not always so easy but this hotel was only 25min walk to both Chinatown and Khaosan Road. And if you wanna get around even more the canal boat is only 8min walk away.
Also only a 50 baht grab ride to the major shopping malls close by.
The bed was hard as a rock. But the rest of the room was well designed for the little space they had. Everything was clean and the staff was nice enough!

Never Again!!!
To start with the location is not bad close to Bobae market. The room was clean andorganized. It’s basically a cube. Tiny and inconvenient for more than one night.
The bed was hard like a rock. Horrible!!!
But what made matters worse if that upon arrival the receptionist was awful, impolite and didn’t even say hello. Despite the language barrier people in Thailand are very polite, well this dude was not and his english was so bad I didn’t understand ANYTHING!!! And I tried really hard. As a person who travels a lot and speaks 5 languages never have I ever encountered so much trouble to understand or be understood. He just wasn’t trying. He did not care and it showed.
He wanted 1000 baht for a deposit for ONE night!!!! Which seemed outrageous but i complied anyways by providing a credit card but he wanted cash. On their website it says that deposit could be provided by card or cash but this dude wanted nothing but cash.
I explained that I was leaving at 5am to leave the country and I would not exchange 1000 baht just for the deposit and he could take my credit card or I would leave. He didn’t even “baht” a lash and left me there waiting for more than 40 minutes. He also wanted to keep my passport for the night to which i said ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! A lady showed up after a while and was surprised to see me there, she spoke english and she fixed everything but the experience was bad and I discourage you from booking this place!

Okay Stay 👍
We enjoyed the view of the canal from our room. The hotel was nice enough, alouth the bathroom in our room had quite a bit of mildew. The staff doesn’t speak much English so don’t expect much help, but they weren’t rude or anything. Overall it was a good stay, but because of the location being a bit far from many restaurants and activities, we would probably choose a different accommodation next time.

Great Budget-Friendly Hotel
I was pleasantly surprised when I got my room at Smile Inn -- for such low prices, I expected less... but got exactly what I bought!
Good location (walkable to everywhere, super quiet neighbourhood), budget-friendly rates, great staff!
I recommend!

Clean, Affordable, and Friendly
This hotel is located on one of the quietest streets in Bangkok, which was refreshing - to not be kept awake by tourists and music all night. I was actually able to sleep here. The motorcycles on the street can be noisy if you're a light sleeper, but this happens at every location in Bangkok. The common area was great to relax in and watch the canal boats go by. I would definitely stay here again.

A memorizable stay
A memorizable good stay that i really enjoyed. A calm place by the river with fabulous view, clean rooms and helpful staff. It is very small inn with small rooms designed in a more or less japanese style that is my impression. Its location is somehow near to many routes of transportations few minutes away like local bus stations, river boats and taxis. The rooms lacked few things like a fridge and boiler, so It is suitable for short stays so far.

Good place to start your stay in Bangkok
Good value but a little bit off the beaten track (15 minutes walk to Khao San Rd). There seems to be a persisting problem with the AC (see previous comments); it only ventilates but doesn't cool (room 202). Friendly staff and picturesque neighborhood. Best way to get around from the hotel is by water taxi.

shabby hotel, lousy location
The room was super tiny, so much that I had to rebook a new hotel after my third night here. The surrounding area is isolated. Cab drivers dont know the way. Often, I spent money taking cabs only to have the drivers drop me off at some landmark nearby, asking me to find my own way back. This is not ideal for holidaymakers.

Smile at the Smile Inn!
For the price, Smile Inn is great. As a first time visitor to Bangkok, the location was a little off the beaten path for me. You have to walk a bit to find a coffee shop, etc. However, the water taxi is available very near the hotel which I discovered when I was about to leave so had I known that sooner I would have been in better shape to get around Bangkok more quickly.

Excellent Budget Accommodation.
I was initially disappointed to be asked for a refundable deposit in case of damage which I refused to handover as it was not highlighted in the hotels T&C's but the hotel was very clean and genrally comfortable and the staff were great when I lost my sim in helping me look for it. Great value for money and good location for sightseeing golden mount and royal palace.

A great budget inn.
Simle inn is a great budget hotel, which has friendly staff (especially the reception lady, who was apparently extremely busy running the whole inn but tried her best to help us with a lot of things) and a river scene. It also has a comfortable public rest area with a huge TV with Bluray and cable, as well as a shared kitchen full of equipments. The room has everything essential in it, and a fair size. Being close to a river makes mosquitos a problem, and the nearest 7-11 is two blocks away. There's a laundry shop next door. You can walk to Khaosan Road for 20 to 30 minutes.

Week in Bangkok
Loved that the boat was the quickest way into town. Walkable to many sights. Good price. Cons= bathroom didn't have a stand alone shower, cleaning too slow to make it to my room on 6 days out of 7 when I was out for hours. AC had some weird setting I couldn't get rid off that kept shutting it off . Kitchen for everyone to use, good, but not even a stove top or rice cooker, so not much to use. Not a whole lot in the vicinity of the hotel except for the big shopping in Bobae.

Simple and clean
This was in easy walking distance of many Wats Kao San road. It's a very simple room though, but compared to other guest houses I've stayed in, it was on the more luxurious side. It's right on a canal, so watch out for mosquitos though!

I booked again
I had a good stay at Smile Inn, the room are clean and nicely designed. One thing maybe, they could improve with more "smiling" at the reception desk for such an hotel name, otherwise pretty good overall. I actually stayed longer in Bangkok and booked a few more nights there.
