Loved it
The hotel is so beautiful and we loved all the animals! In addition to peacocks, they also have a giant tortoise and a cat. The staff was all very friendly and so kind and helpful. Highly recommend!

The Mansion Papilio is like transporting yourself back in time. My sister and I stayed three nights and it is not just for couples, we enjoyed every minute during our stay. From the peacocks to Picasso the cat and the sulcata tortoise to the furnishings, architecture, lawns and serenity. But what stood out the most was the beyond excellent service provided by our Mayordomo Alan. He gave us a tour of the Mansion and knows so much about the mansion’s history. He worked around the clock tirelessly to make sure we had everything we wanted. Even special requests like my non alcoholic cold beers! He is such an inspiration of loving his job and it shows his commitment to excellent service. We already miss the Mansion and we miss Alan as well. We are already planning our next stay!!! Thanks to everyone at the Mansion!

Unique property in very convenient location
My stay overall was pretty good. The room was spacious and the property well maintained and very unique with a terrific location near many activities and restaurants in the center of Coyoacan. I have a few suggestions to make service a bit stronger, related to sharing more information should be provided upfront to help visitors (especially foreigners who don't speak Spanish) with instructions and tips upon arrival and basic / common FAQs, including: - provide the gate code in advance so that visitors are able to come in and not get confused waiting outside on the small sidewalk - communicate some common FAQs about the WiFi, water and other items ahead of guests arrival (I only later noticed that a lot of this information was actually provided in a booklet inside the room) - since the staff don't speak English, it makes it even more important to facilitate easy and timely communication of questions and requests especially during hours when the staff are not readily visible / reachable. Thank you!

Charming but needs attention to details (and A/C).
The building and grounds have a great period feel. Peacocks add atmosphere. The free part of breakfast was just pineapple and coffee, beyond that is $, but good. Staff left us at the gate for several minutes at check in, and were not attentive as to our bags. No air conditioning. No information about how to call reception from room, no tissue dispenser. Loud Etta James and similar at check in (fine choice but loud), but also at 8-9 pm which we could hear clearly in our room until we complained, then again starting just before 9 am. No one wants that. Gardener started also at 9, instead of after checkout time. Since no air, windows were open. Staff needs training. Bathroom door (Suite Patrick) is painted glass and flimsy, lighting in shower / toilet area too dark. We had booked Cezzane but given Patrick as the jacuzzi tub was being fixed. In theory a more expensive room, and no upcharge, but closer to the loud music. Overall, it’s a charming place and needs some improvement to the next level. No A/C was ok in cool weather but would not be in the heat. It’s not far to the Frida Kahlo Museum, but a very long walk for most. Also near Coyoacán’s Coyotes park & restaurants which is very nice.

Una experiencia increíble, el lugar es fabuloso, una casa con historia y te la pasas genial, estas a una calle del Centro de Coyoacán, lo que es inmejorable para caminar y disfrutar esa zona, el servicio del personal excelente... Estuve tan a gusto que pase en la mansión más tiempo del planeado...

Extraordinaria propiedad. Espacios amplios y limpios. Personal con muy buena actitud pendientes en otorgar un muy buen servicio. Martín, Arturo, Daniel y Araceli siempre atentos para ver qué se nos ofrece. El Chef de primera y también con una gran atención. Únicamente sugiero aceitar cerraduras pues rechinan mucho. En la habitación que nos quedamos la regadera sale con demasiada presión y creo es un desperdicio de agua. Por lo demás puedo decir que es un lugar de primera. Un tesoro escondido en el sur de la ciudad de México. Muchas felicidades a todo el personal

Great stay in a historic, updated mansion
Great place with a wonderful, helpful staff and close to Central Coyoacan for great food, shopping and cultural stuff. Everyone was delightful; breakfast with the peacocksaround the fountain was a daily highlight. Just a very nice place to stay in Coyoacan!
