Not up to the Standards La Quinta usually exhibits
These rooms were not up to the standards I am used to seeing with other La Quinta and not worth the 179/each per night. The room we were staying in reeked of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room. The rooms were poorly maintained with obvious water damage, ceiling damage, floor damage, etc.. The front desk representative was hard to understand and did not understand our questions. A second representative stepped in to help after several minutes. Rowdy people were jumping the fence from the streets to get into the pool area. Then there was a Surprise firework show set off from what appeared to be the rooftop at 9:45pm for the nearby amusement park. At first it sounded like gunfire with people screaming, but I was relieved it was not. It was not a restful night. Morning breakfast was super crowded with watery eggs and boiled sausages and limited other foods.

No closet and the door barely locks.
Our room doesn't have a closet. I’ve never stayed at a hotel without a closet. Also, we were put in a dungeon. Our room is under the stairs and our window opens up to a wall with another window. It's pretty depressing. Lastly, and least important, no one ever serviced our room, and we needed clean towels. Oh, and the door! To close it and get it to lock, we had to pull with both hands, as hard as we could. To close it from the inside, I had to ram it with my shoulder.

Disappointed, smelly stay
The only thing worse than the awful, strong odor of cleaning products, was the overwhelming smell of sewage wreaking through the room from the bathroom. The bed was clunky every time you adjust yourself and the pillows were tiny and very lumpy- two good pillows would've been much better. We asked for wash clothes and were told to come back to the desk in 30 minutes to check again, there was no offer to bring them to the room when they were available. The windows did not have privacy so we couldn't get sunlight, the privacy screen still showed everything in the room and with the room in the open air walkway, that was very uncomfortable and felt unsafe. It is clear they are trying to do upgrades, I cannot imagine what it looked like beforehand. There is not even a place to hang clothes or hangers available, only two hooks. The cost is only due to the proximity to Busch Gardens, nothing about this place is worth the price. Better off driving out 10mins and staying somewhere worth over $300 for two nights.

2 day vacay
Fast & easy check in. The room was very clean & looks exactly like the picture. The bed was very comfortable. A variety of different food options for breakfast. Cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, toast & orange juice or milk. We enjoyed our stay & wouldn’t mind staying again in the future.
