Overall our stay the Hotel Royal William Ascend was good. A few pros and cons:
Pros:
- Within walkable distance to Old Quebec (20 minute walk)
- Located in an "entertainment district" with several food options, nightly life, and bars easily accessible (5 minute walk) without needing to go into Old Quebec.
- Underground parking available (across the street).
- Spacious, clean, updated rooms.
- Friendly, knowledgeable staff
- Very quiet (sound proofed rooms, didn't hear anything)!
Cons:
- Parking was a challenge when we first arrived. There is no parking on site, it is in a garage across the street. The hotel could do a better job of advertising parking options and directing guests.
- Some of the hotel/room features advertised were not accurate. There was no bottled water in the room (we had to ask for it), there was no kettle, the gym was really mediocre (it was stated as a "state of the art gym"), the continental breakfast (we only walked by) did not look worth the $15.
- The between room cleanings was minimal - bedding, towels, and garages. It would have been nice if they vacuumed the floors.
