10 Best Places to Go Shopping in Acapulco

Plaza Marbella is a shopping mall right on the Bay of Santa Lucia. It offers a variety of businesses, including restaurants, a bank, a tattoo parlour, and 14 brand-name stores, making it a great place to spend an afternoon in Acapulco.

If you’re hungry, stop by standout restaurants like El Gran Recuerdo for Mexican cuisine, Pizzeria Restaurante Napoli for Italian cuisine, or Mariscos Pancho y Zayra for fresh seafood. Thanks to its central location, you can find many ways to get to Plaza Marbella from just about anywhere in the city.

Mercado Centro is one of the most active markets in Acapulco. You can find hundreds of shops and food stalls inside and outside of the market. Vendors range from local artists and florists to food stalls serving traditional dishes. Must-tries include pozole (stew), ceviche, and enchiladas.

Galerias Acapulco is a large shopping mall housing almost 100 stores. It’s located at the intersection of Highway 200 and Avenue Costera Migues Aleman. Since this is an indoor mall, it's a great place for shopping and escaping hot days in Acapulco.

With so many stores to choose from, you can get almost anything at Galerias Acapulco. These include home goods and luxury clothing to toys and souvenirs. Those travelling by car can get their parking validated by presenting a receipt of purchase before leaving the mall. 

Craft Market El Pueblito is a great place to enjoy local traditional cuisine and purchase handicrafts by local artisans. You can find the market at the corner of Dr. Ignacio Chave and Highway 200, just north of Playa El Murro.

Like any traditional art market, El Pueblito is known for offering some of the most unique and colourful souvenirs in the city. Due to its proximity to the beach, the market is also a great place to purchase bathing suits, beach blankets, and more. 

La Isla Shopping Village is a luxury shopping destination filled with beautiful stores and delicious restaurants. It’s also a great place to bring the family for an afternoon or evening of fun. Popular retailers include Billabong and Lacoste, while standout restaurants are Carlos ‘n Charlies and Harry’s Prime Steakhouse & Raw Bar.

La Isla Shopping Village has unique amenities for the whole family to enjoy, such as a playground, cinema, bars with live music, and even a canal with night-time gondola rides. The open-air mall is just 2.5 km northwest of Acapulco International Airport and 14 km southwest of central Acapulco. 

Mercado de Artesanias “La Diana” is a flea market specialising in unique homemade crafts at affordable prices. It’s situated in the eastern part of Acapulco, along Acapulco Bay. You can get there on foot from Playa Condesa within 10 minutes.

Besides shopping for local art and knick-knacks, locals frequent La Diana to stock up on fresh fruit, vegetables, and traditional street food. We highly recommend getting a few local snacks and enjoying them on the beach.

Acapulco Mall is one of the locals’ go-to for goods and services in Acapulco. It has a variety of retailers, including fashion brand Bety LBV Galindo and the Soluciones Hidráulicas y Sanitarias hardware store. You can also find clinics, law firms, and even a popular restaurant, Pizza’s Real.

Acapulco Mall is about a 10-minute walk northeast of Playa Papagayo. If you're travelling by car, you can enjoy free parking for the first hour. There is plenty of street parking near the mall, too.

Galerías Diana is a posh shopping mall that offers a variety of name-brand stores and small boutiques. It’s a great place for picking up a new outfit from prominent stores like Zara, Pull&Bear, Bershka Acapulco, and Lotes.

After enjoying a few hours of retail therapy, you can catch a film at Galerías Diana’s onsite cinema or enjoy a meal at Italianni’s or Fischer’s. Both restaurants offer excellent views of Acapulco Bay. You can find the mall on the northern side of Highway 200, just 450 metres north of Playa Magallanes.

Mercado Chilapeño is one of the most popular markets for authentic Mexican handmade gifts, fresh local produce, and snacks in Acapulco. You can find it in the La Fábrica neighbourhood, just a 15-minute walk from Playa Tamarindos and Playa Hornos. This market is a local favourite, offering an authentic shopping experience in the city.

Mercado Chilapeño is known for having a wide variety of assorted handicrafts at very affordable prices. Due to its popularity and location in a busy neighbourhood, parking can be a challenge. If you’re planning to visit, it’s a good idea to get there on foot or by taxi.
