This hotel was overbooked and unfortunately the hotel did not handle the situation well. After a delayed flight, and a long trip into Manhattan from the airport. I arrived around 2am and was surprised to see approx. 15-20 other guests waiting in the lobby. It was evident that many had been there a while and no Park Central staff were at the Front Desk (or anywhere in the lobby).
Many guests, including myself tried to contact Park Central staff via phone. Most of the phone numbers rang for a long time until someone finally picked up. I was informed that someone should be there soon. After some time, an employee came out and informed us that the hotel had been overbooked and handed out a letter to most of the guests. I didn't get any explanation, but was informed me that I needed to go to another hotel nearby. Any questions I had were met with "I'm just the messenger".
Once I arrived at the second hotel, the checkin desk was also confused as what to do with the letter. I eventually was checked in, however this hotel was not similar in quality or location. I also had problems with the number of nights covered (my keycard was deactivated in the morning).
Overall I am still waiting to hear back from Park Central on any explanation or refund.
