Unfortunately this was not to the usual Marriott standard.
Check in was not super friendly, I had prepaid and still had $300 taken off my card but no explanation of why or what the charges were for when I asked (found out from my invoice it was city charges etc).
Room is a decent size and modern however shower grout was very moldy and issues with brown water in taps (hotel maintenance were trying to address it and gave a letter to guest notifying of it)…..shower is also a weird design you have to step in and out around the toilet! Housekeeping came on the first day and then never saw them again, had to chase up fresh towels, replacement tea & coffee etc. Also disappointing was the restaurant, I had daily credits to use and attempted to however 3 of the 4 days I went for breakfast there was at least a 20-30 minute wait to get a table, there were clearly free tables but staff just kept walking past the crowd in the restaurant lobby waiting to be seated, with no information or interaction…..not sure if they were short staffed?? I ended up having breakfast at other local cafes so at least they got some business out of it.
Hotel is in a good location downtown close to transport and Portland activities.
Overall for what I paid I expected much better so probably would not stay there again.
