Our stay was overall nice. The room was clean, comfortable, and best of all for us, it was quiet. The only thing I didn’t like was the surprise huge pet fee at check-in. We always travel with our small dog, and we’re used to paying a customary pet fee of $25-$35, or leaving a deposit, but here it is $75 per night which I didn’t learn until check in and too late to back out. Had I known they were going to add such an excess charge, I would have chosen a different place. It would have been a lot better if this excess fee was clearly stated at time of booking. The hotel can charge whatever they see fit and a lesson learned is I should have taken the extra inconvenient step of calling the hotel first. Hopefully this isn’t a sign of things to come, with hotels charging a huge pet fee, but lesson learned.
Another unpleasant surprise is the reservation stated breakfast is available, and I even pre-paid for breakfast for two, but there was no obvious breakfast area, no signs anywhere, and no one having breakfast, but they had good coffee but that seemed to be free for everyone. I was going to ask the front desk where is this mystery breakfast that I prepaid, but of course it was during peak check out time and they had their hands full, so we just grabbed our coffee and hit the road.
This would have been a much better experience if there was better transparency about the pet fee, and if there really is breakfast available, please explain at check-in how/where to get it.
