Nice in the heart of Santa Cruz
Friendly staff, clean rooms, interior corridors, quiet, conveniently located to downtown, some restaurants within walking distance, loved the drink bar in the lobby with coffee, hot chocolate, tea & juices. The continental breakfast was pretty basic but included with the room price.

Enjoyed Santa Cruz area
Superb cleanliness, spacious rooms, beds were comfortable, breakfast was nice and not crowded. Downside was no hot tub. Appreciate the friendliness of the lady at the front desk. Thank you! Ran into few minor issues, 2nd TV didn't work, maintenance in building stinky because of tub reglazing and there is only a thin top cover for a blanket. We loved how 3rd floor was so quiet, such cute beach themed decor thru out, softest towels ever, wet bar with Keurig, newly remodeled and we thought the couch was really comfortable. Parking was tight but not any worse than other underground parking. Plenty of spaces and smelled fresh and clean from power washing. cleaning. $15 over night Easy access to hwy 1, walking to beach is possible but kinda far. Great Beach hut deli across the street

Great medium priced hotel in a convenient location. Breakfast was good, quiet hotel. The heater fan is very noisy so turned it off to sleep. Bathroom fan was very loud too. Good stay overall.

Nice Overnight Stay!
Stayed here while visiting my daughter at UC Santa Cruz. Pet-friendly and convenient location. My only feedback is that we were put in a room (room 217) that was right in front of the ice machine, which was not desirable. I would definitely stay here again!

Our stay here was overall ok, but there were a few big issues that soured it for us. Our room was not ready for us until after 5:30, which was a nuisance as we had just come from a long drive and wanted to be able to rest. They did provide us with an apology bag of a water bottle and some chips, which was a nice gesture but still inconvenient. The big issues came when we checked into the room. A lot of the room had damage to the furniture and other areas around it Even the door in the main bathroom was warped so you couldnt physically close the door at all. And the biggest thing that shocked us was when we found a long old and rusty screw sitting on the windowsill that's in front of the bed. This was unbelievable to us as it was sitting there in plain site! The breakfast was nice, the front desk staff were friendly and understanding, and the beds were very comfy, but the sheets we were given had some questionable stains and areas where they were so worn out that they were see through. I understand that this isn't the most expensive top tier hotel in the world, but there were a lot of issues that really disappointed us.

It was clean, but…
I expected more from here. The hotel was clean, spacious and didn’t have those nasty carpets. However, The automatic lights were terrible. Especially at night when you use the restroom and then want to wash your hands. It just automatically turns on waking everyone up. That was annoying. Also, the food was blah. The coffee was good and the dispenser was pretty cool. Also, there was a fee for parking. But the hotel says they are not responsible for the car or damage. David at the front desk was fabulous! He was so helpful as we were traveling with our adult special needs son. He ensured our needs were met. The check-in staff was great. Breakfast was blah. The eggs were cold AND runny, sausage was overzapped by the microwave. They should keep a microwave in the dining area just for the eggs. The bathroom lighting was poor, not the best place to do your makeup for an important event, OH!! They have a motion sensor light by the wet bar which faces the beds. The light would automatically turn on even though NO ONE was moving. It was impossible to sleep because it would turn on bright and shine on our faces and wake us up all night!! That was a bummer. We called the front desk and they said that everyone complains about it.
