This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, it’s even worse than the motels along the interstate. It’s in desperate need of an update. The rooms are sterile and extremely basic. The window didn’t close so it was extremely noisy. The other reviews must’ve been staying in a different hotel or paid to make a positive review because their reviews do not reflect the true state of this place. I do not recommend this hotel.

Centralt beläget och väldigt sköna sängar
Vill man bo mitt i smeten så är detta hotell perfekt, Empire state building bakom hörnet och Macy’s utanför dörren. Dock slitet och skulle må bra av en uppfräschning, men helt okej för oss som familj och för en weekend. Väldigt sköna sängar och bästa utsikten. Tunnelbana precis utanför. Hörde trafiken utanför om kvällarna, men det hör ju till charmen av ”the Big Apple”. Hjälpsam personal i receptionen. Kan tänka oss att bo här igen om vi kommer tillbaka till N.Y.

A home away from home hotel very down to earth .
Stayed here before . Came back this time as a couple to stay 2 nights pre-cruiseWe arrived at the hotel in the morning . The girl at the reception ( forgot her name ) on Feb 7 was very nice and allowed us to check in early so that we could settle in and have a rest from our early morning flight . Room is comfy and clean and large enough to do its job . The hotel location is unbeatable right beside subway station which can take you anywhere in the city . Not to mention it has nice gym which is really something for me . All in all , will stay at this hotel again when coming to NY again .

Um hotel simples, mas com um quarto bem grande para os padrões de Nova York, mas o ponto forte é a localização do hotel, e a melhor possível. Eu recomendo demais esse hotel.

Impressive!
It was crazy to read some of bad reviews of this place beforehand and it had me a bit nervous before I booked, but was looking for a budget friendly hotel for 5 days in the city and wanted one in this area, so I took the chance. It was phenomenal! The room was incredibly generous with its size for NYC, including a small couch table and chair, plus desk, fridge, safe and wardrobe closet. Nice size bathroom as well. Bed & furniture were very comfy and the views were outstanding. There were other reviews saying problems with : heat, cable tv, no towels - I did not encounter any of these issues at all. All staff encountered during my stay were friendly, helpful and polite - but especially Jonathon who was so welcoming and made my stay even better. I stayed on the 15th floor, corner room King suite and would recommend! There is a lounge one the 4th floor, room 412, that offers vending machines and a few couches & bathroom. Entrance is marked by ‘8 Herald Square’ & glass doors have hotel name on them. This entrance is shared with Monarch bar which is separate elevator, that offers food drinks and a breathtaking rooftop view of the city. The lobby is small, but check in/out was efficient, plus security present. $2 per bag luggage hold which was fantastic as well as i had a late flight out. I will definitely stay here on my next visit! Amazing bargain for the quality of hotel!

Best location
The best thing about the hotel is its location, literally next to the station to take any of the yellow or orange lines. It is close to the main stations such as Penn Station and Grand Central. It is not a luxurious hotel, but it is comfortable and very well located. The lobby staff is very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was basic
Basic hotel that met our one night stay needs. Some things were lacking... Charge to leave bags after check, no yissues in the room, pillows were flat and when we asked for extras they were not available, only trash can was in the bathroom, shower curtain is too short so no matter how careful we were the floor got soaked

The location was great, we could walk to a lot of the places we want to go and there was a subway station right outsided The staff was very kind and understanding and made our stay wonderful. I would stay here again when we come to NY.
