Unique hotel!

Such a unique and cool hotel! Room was big and clean. Location was good too, with a short walk to the city centre. Check in after hours was a little tricky but got there in the end!

Great hotel for my short trip. Only downside was being unable to get into my room on the second day. A quick call got the card reactivated so only a minor problem. Room was comfy and a good size, clean and tidy. Breakfast options were very good, from meats, cheese ect to cereals and yoghurts. I'll definitely return to Gothenburg and I'd definitely stay here again.

AMAZING!! Love the decorations, cabine/boat vibe, cosy and very clean cabine/room. Great and very functional bathroom/toilet. Breakfast was great and good variety of food. Easily accessed location and short walking distance to the main areas. The only thing is that I have not seen anyone at the reception but they have a phone at the entrance for any issues.

Funny house

Here you get a two for one deal! Both a room and amusement park funny house. Floor extremely sloping and no bother to adapt the legs of the bed. Feet 5 cm higher than the head and sideways slope far worse so that you have to struggle against rolling over. TV some very old stuff with a separate receiver - of cause not working.

Budget but fine for me

Here’s what you need to know: -the price reflects that this is not a fancy place -the ship lists hard to the side, which can be jarring -there is a decent basic breakfast -the shared bathrooms don’t look great; pay a little more to get your own bathroom I’ve stayed here several times because it’s a budget place I can stay while I’m in Gothenburg alone or with a friend. I expect that if the price is significantly lower, there’s a reason, and I accept that. Check in is weird the first time because you’ll do it via their land line, but it’s actually pretty easy. The breakfast person was super nice and attentive, too.

Nice ship, but zero open reception, and very dirty in common areas, cleaning lady just on her phone all the time, she didn’t clean up trash in common areas once between Friday and Sunday (when I stayed there).

One of the standout features of this hotel is that it is actually a ship, which adds a unique charm and a touch of adventure to the stay. The location is superb, as it is within walking distance from the city center, making it easy to explore all the local attractions. Additionally, being right next to the ferry terminal made it incredibly convenient for us to get around. The breakfast was okay and provided a decent start to the day, though it didn't stand out as particularly exceptional. However, there was one significant downside to our stay. Despite placing a request for room cleaning on our door, our room was not cleaned for the entire three days of our stay. This was quite disappointing and impacted our overall comfort.

Tyvärr har barken Viking tappat fräschören

Vi har bott många gånger på Viking under de gångna åren, upp mot 30 nätter, och alltid trivts, men de två senaste vistelserna har inte svarat upp mot tidigare upplevelser. Vi bodde nu 4 nätter och ingen gång städades eller sågs rummet över, ingen påfyllnad av toalettpapper (ordnade vi själva), ingen tömde papperskorgar. Handdukar är slitna, säkerligen rena men inte fräscha, gardiner för ventilerna är fläckiga, väggpaneler har lossnat på visa ställen, lampskärm saknas. Totalt sätt känns det inte längre fräscht, rent och omskött. Frukosten har blivit betydligt mindre omfångsrik än tidigare. Detta är inget roligt att skriva då vi tidigare alltid trivts på Viking. En rejäl uppryckning och uppfräschning krävs för att inte barken Viking skall förfalla bortom räddning.
