Bigotry at the front desk
We arrived and the receptionist was awful. She “lost our reservation” somehow. She “couldn’t find it in the system.” We showed our confirmation number and she miraculously found a room for us. She barely looked at us and made it very clear that she wanted nothing to do with us. She was however very cheerful with the couple behind us and their “cute baby” having a nice conversation with them as if my wife and I weren’t even there. She was also super nice to the man before us. Originally we had a reservation for a queen room. Much to our surprise we ended up in a room with two twins.
My wife and I are clearly not the normal demographic that this hotel receives. The man before us and the couple after us were of the primary demographic of that area.
I don’t expect to be treated like a prince, but basic human respect, or at least the decency to hide your distain would be nice. I don’t even want a smile, but not sneering would be awesome. I don’t know which part of my existence she had an issue with, but she either needs a better pokerface or not be upfront, where she may encounter people like my wife and me.
