I loved Dunfermline, it's full of Scottish history and you can go and visit Robert the Bruce at the Dunfermline abbey which was amazing, there is also a 4D plaster of what he looked like, it was excellent. Once more support your local places.

Love Dunfermline. The Carnegie Museum is worth a visit. Some nice architecture and a big park all central. We ate at Dhoom which was very impressive.

Right in city centre so not too far to walk everything in the vicinity
"We walked to hotel from Waverley Rail station was 30 min walk. Get a taxi if got cases and bags. Lovely walk otherwise to Princes street.
Can walk to town centre by side of river through Leith Gardens. Lovely walk.
Hotel staff were quick to book us in.
room was lovely, big, clean, tea coffee milk biscuits. Shower, hair and soap in bathroom.
Shower curtain was spotlessly clean. Lovely big soft towels.
We were overlooking the river which was nice.
We had a very pretty lounge next to our room.
Staff were very friendly and on hand for any questions or replenishment of room stuff. Didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that but smelt lovely when walking through main lobby.
Would recommend this hotel, if able to walk okay but if unsteady on feet you would need to get a taxi ( plenty about) as hotel is down a very steep curvy road from main road to hotel at side of river. "
"We loved Apex City Hotel. The staff members were all very friendly, the guest room was clean, comfortable and spacious for 3 people. There's a nice buffet style breakfast at the hotel restaurant at reasonable prices. We can walk to shops, local restaurants and attractions. Edinburgh Castle is a 15 minute walk. National Art Gallery is a 10 minute walk. Loved the purified water dispenser on each floor and a water carafe in the room--did not have to buy bottled water! We were here for the Fringe Festival and could walk to all the major performance venues (the furthest one was only a 15 minutes walk)."
"Lovely place. Staff where very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely too also other meals were great
Would recommend this holiday inn. My family and me would definitely stay here again. And bus stop outside the holiday inn to take you into Edinburgh and other places "
