Great hotel in a great location, very close to tube and easy walking distance to Tower Bridge, Thames and Spittlefields. Staff on front desk were great and hotel room was large and very comfortable. Having a Nespresso machine and a refillable water carafe (with a chilled water machine in hall) were great additions to the room. We would definitely go back to the hotel and would recommend it.
Only suggestion for main hotel was that it was a shame that they closed the outside bar seating area at 10pm and, whilst inside, the bar remained open, it felt a little like they were clearing up from 10pm.
Our biggest disappointment was rooftop bar, which we were told was a separate business to the hotel but as a customer that isn't clear. Staff are not very welcoming and despite several times declining filtered water for the table, they brought some anyway, then poured it even though we asked them to take it away and then tried to charge £4 for it. We were drinking champagne so it really wasn't that we couldn't afford the £4, it just felt underhand when we had said no. If someone had said upfront that there was a table service charge including water then that wouldn't have been an issue, but it's the fact that its clearly a sneaky add on to an already expensive bar. Not a tactic I would expect in a good hotel. Didn't experience this in the other two rooftop bars we visited so try those instead.
but overall Canopy Hilton is a great choice for its staff, location and good rooms
