Felt like Family Day at the Park vs. A Vacation
All in all a no. Cleanliness, availability and freshness of food. One case of food poisoning. Availability of Spirits, most was for preferred guest so when us non-preferred quest's drink of choice was not available, it was basically "drink what we have". We had to switch rooms twice due to broken elevator, leaking water, broken phone etc. Had we not complained they were ok with putting us in the broke down building. I booked a double room and was moved to a single room which was unacceptable due to the fact that we had 2 guests in the room. Our dinner reservation was cancelled because they "cannot accommodate". I was in conversation with Hotels.com for over an hour regarding getting a refund/credit to switch resorts. I was told someone would contact me to make this happen. I am still waiting for a response from Hotels.com since Wednesday, January 8, 2025 today is January 13,2025. This was not the type of accommodations I am used to and i did not feel supported the H.com.

Family of 6 great stay
The wifi was terrible between 10am-12am each night. Tvs old and pictures fuzzy not clear at all. The beach was beautiful. Buffet was good. Hard to get reservations at the restaurants. Staff at check in and out were great. Room wasnt ready until 3:30 and then i was given a key to an occupied room. Took 30 mins to fix it. Had to get new room keys every day. For the price i would come back Laundry facilities were minimal and i had to wait for housekeeping to finish using it.

Can do better
The property is severely run down. It seems to have changed hands and nothing has been renovated for new surfaces. The bathroom was horrible as if it was not cleaned for weeks. The dining room chairs some of them were dirty and needed washing and bleach. Would lot stay here again until they renovated it properly. Love it when it was Holiday Inn

This place needs a wrecking ball. Horrible unsafe
This stay was absolutely horrible and the fact that I couldn't get to anyone at Hoteld.com to try to reverse and change my location was even worse than that. This place was horrible our first room had a big leak in it. The staff wouldn't let us go in the room first they walked us to the room looked in the room close the door and said they had to find us another room. The second room we went to we had to climb up three flights of steps because the elevators were broken to get to the room. The stairwells were definitely horrifying unsafe and dangerous for anyone to walk through. It really needed work really bad very unsafe. Once we got to the room the bathroom was unsanitary unsafe as well as the refrigerator was full of rough on the outside of the refrigerator I asked for Ocean view room and if I look out over the palm trees on my tippy toes I could actually see the ocean. After complaining about that room the staff was not happy when I asked for another room. We are still trying to get a hold of hotels.com and trying to relocate to a different resort but no answers via chat or phone. So we got to our last room and we had plumbing situations. Got sick off of the food. Now I have back eggs because of doing the flights of steps because the elevator was broke. Then I ask for laundry room which they said they had and there's a spooky unsafe laundry room with only a washer no dryer. Wanted to soak in the hot tub because of my back the hot tub wasn't working. Wanted to paddle boat b

Not the same
This former Holiday Inn resort still has some wonderful things that remain and some not so wonderful. The same...beautiful grounds, friendly staff especially in food and bar areas, clean comfy rooms. However there were a lot of disappointments. There were very few working elevators. Towels are very hard to come by, ran out early and then not restocked. The buffet food was pretty much the same daily, good but not much change. Island vendors are now allowed in water on resort property, not fun being pressured daily to buy from them. Certain employees hitting on young ladies and trying to sell guests pot. Security and life guard on the island is a nice idea however not when they sleep, have loud conversations on phone, sitting with feet on back of guest lounge chairs, even laying and sleeping in on while on duty. After 7 visits to this property with the change in ownership we will not return.

Catalonia previously called Holiday Inn needs to be closed down and refurbished. Everything is old and rusty. Staff is unfriendly and cocktails are watered down

Hit or miss but property mostly decent
It was ok, linen was fresh & clean which was appreciated & the room smelt clean with ac off. On the other hand, my guests’ room reportedly smelt, linen smelt & food left at the elevator remained there for days. Service was a hit or miss. Some servers were excellent while some were woefully lacking. The property is fairly well kept but some areas seem abandoned like the mini golf & tennis courts as well as the pool (game) & table tennis area. The hobbie cats are also out of commission so water sport is limited. We also didn’t get any hats for New Year’s Eve as apparently they didn’t have enough. The welcome drink is horrible cheap drink or flavored water which also took a while to be brought. While the gala dinner was decent, the other night had almost nothing to choose from where meat selection is concerned, though the specialty restaurants were ok. Buffet fruits had sour flies anll over them in one chill area & condiments stand was messy with tongs falling into the water for self serve so everyone’s hand was in it to retrieve. Overall a hit or miss.

Upgrade needed
Rooms are in need of upgrading. The AC was very loud (prevented me from sleeping properly). The food was well prepared and tasty, however the variety of juices they offer is limited, the orange juice taste nothing like orange juice.

Anniversary trip
Overall stay was just OK came for my anniversary trip and they gave us double beds. Service was OK could’ve been a lot better room was OK. Did not have mini bar so important to know. building one was old room outdated.

Never again; even if it were free!
Don’t believe the pictures!!!! This resort is so outdated, I would never stay here even if it was free. The ladies at the front desk are beyond rude, the waiters inside of the dining room are crooks. They got about 50 stray cats walking ALL OVER the resort INCLUDING the dining room. I’ve seen a few cats drink out of the swimming pool water too. I was quite disgusted and safe to say that I did not swim in the pool. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this resort is… the drivers stay with you during your excursions outside of the resort and give you some history behind the beautiful country of Jamaica. Mark my words, save up some more cash if you can & stay somewhere else. I know I wished I could’ve stayed somewhere else !!!
