Didn’t hate it. Didn't love it. Wouldn’t return
I didn’t hate my stay, but I’m not eager to return. The service in general was just fair - the swim up bar would have 4-5 workers behind it at almost any given time but only one guy serving, who seemed stressed cause it was always so busy.
I went to guest services a couple of times and same thing, a few people there but one waiting on us. The coffee shop, same thing.
Gift shop prices for snacks was absolutely absurd. I’ve seen high prices before; you just know for the convenience they’re gonna be high but a red bull, $10 USD, a bag of chips, $17 USD..
Tried paying the environmental tax in pesos (we are in Mexico after all) however they refused their own currency & would only accept USD. As someone that doesn’t even use USD, this was frustrating & stupid.. I’m in Mexico, let me use YOUR currency.
My room was in a not-so-new building & the first night I went to get something out of my suitcase I saw bugs, so I moved my suitcase and found even more, then started removing my clothes from my suitcase and they were falling out of my clothes. I had a little bit of coffee left in my cup & the next morning there were about 8 bugs floating in it.
The food was delicious, the buffet had tons of options. Drinks weren’t bad. The waitress around the pool was fantastic.
FYI for the beach - you will not get crystal clear water here in south Cancun, it’s murky but there wasn’t any sargassum.
