10 Best Places to Go Shopping in Pattaya

Central Pattaya, also known as Central Festival Pattaya, has dominated the city’s skyline since its opening in 2009. It is the tallest structure on the beachfront and, with over 300 shops housed within, it also dominates the area’s shopping scene. The grand mall is home to many high street fashion brands, including Calvin Klein, H&M, Marks & Spencer, Nautica and Zara.

There is also a wide selection of food outlets, from the Central Food Court on the bottom floor to Oishi Ramen on the top, with Middle Eastern, Italian, and western cuisines represented in between. Electrical stores include PowerBuy, Canon and Samsung outlets while the Central Department Store covers 5 floors of the Second Road end of the building. With the addition of a cinema and bowling alley, Central Pattaya is one of the main social hot spots in the city as well as being a shopper’s paradise.

Royal Garden Plaza is a hip beachfront mall on the southern end of Beach Road in Pattaya. What Central Festival has in height, Royal Garden Plaza has in width. It is a distinctive landmark for the bright red aircraft stuck out of the Second Road entrance and the yellow balloon rising out of the roof – both of which belong to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Pattaya. The museum takes up most of the entire floor.

Terminal 21 Pattaya is a travel-themed shopping mall near Dolphin Roundabout, at the northern end of Pattaya City. Much like its older namesake in Bangkok, each floor is themed around a particular world destination – Paris on the ground floor, then London, Italy, Tokyo and San Francisco, before you reach the top floor where you'll find a cinema.

Pattaya Floating Market is an extremely popular attraction in Pattaya as well as being a great place for souvenir shopping. The market is a combination of a living museum, a live show and a shopping centre. Being an artificial reconstruction of the popular floating markets in Bangkok, it is considerably safer and easier to navigate and is home to a great selection of high-quality wares such as clothing, handicraft, art and jewellery.

There is also the option to scoot around the stilted village in a small boat, enjoy some of the cultural demonstrations or dine at the great selection of small eateries offering Thai meals and snacks from across the country.

Outlet Mall Pattaya is a great go-to shopping destination in Pattaya with a selection of local and international brands on offer. The mall is impressive and the huge savings available are even more so. Up to 70% has been known to be knocked off the prices of original products from Levi’s, Camel Active, Adidas, Nike, Timberland, Warner Bros. Studios and Lacoste, among others.

The downstairs Premium Fashion Mall features a recreation of a street market layout, but with names like Clarks, Samsonite, Speedo and Crocs on sale. Feeling peckish while shopping? You’ll find one of the finest low-cost, high-quality Thai restaurants in Pattaya among the few onsite dining options available inside the mall.

Mimosa Pattaya is a colourful recreation of the French city of Colmar and is almost impossible to miss as you drive along Sukhumvit Road. Among the recreation Renaissance-era buildings, the windmill, the canals and the musical water fountain are more than 300 shops selling a selection of souvenirs, clothing, jewellery and Thai handicrafts.

There is a 45-minute family-friendly cabaret show around the fountain, street performances throughout the day and a small collection of rides and attractions in the Funland Amusement Park, making for a great day out for the entire family.

Central Marina offers one of the most tropical experiences for shopping in Pattaya with its open design and a colourful, plant-strew courtyard surrounded by over 130 shops. The biggest is the supermarket which gives this place its more common name: “Big C North”.

It has a selection of smaller brand stores such as Maybelline, Nike and Pierre Cardin, but these are vastly outnumbered by the vendors selling unbranded or copied clothing.

It is also a great place to go looking for souvenirs and has a selection of cheap local dining options in and around it. Uniquely among the shopping options in Pattaya, it has a rooftop pool which is available for public use, for a small fee.

Thepprasit Night Market is one of the biggest and certainly one of the most popular of the local markets in Pattaya. It attracts visitors and locals alike each weekend. Sometimes known as Kankheha Thepprasit Market, it is home to an impressive range of clothes, jewellery, mobile phone accessories, cosmetic goods, toys, gadgets, souvenirs and Thai cuisine.

As is to be expected of a street market, most of the wares are cheap very cheap and are often lower quality than they may appear. However, there are still some excellent bargains to be found on surprisingly good non-branded items at Thepprasit Night Market, particularly if you haggle the prices down a bit.

Pattaya Night Bazaar, also known as the “Made in Thailand Market”, is where vendors sell everything from discount clothing and souvenirs to mobile phone accessories and gadgets. What was once a rag-tag collection of street stalls under a stifling corrugated metal roof, is now an air-conditioned building containing a good selection of stalls selling wares ideal for visitors.

The night bazaar in Pattaya has everything you would normally find in a street market, with a few bonus extras like tailor shops and luggage stalls. The prices are perhaps a few baht higher than you would expect to pay at one of the other street markets, but paying for wider paths between stalls and a constant flow of cool air is well worth it.
