Definitely Not the Best…
I had stayed in this hotel 2 weeks in a row for work. Two different rooms in different buildings each week. The first week (King Suite in the main building with lobby below) was not bad and was actually a pretty routine stay for a Holiday Inn.
However, the second week (King Suite in Building 3, which is 2 buildings south of the main building) was among my worse hotel stays. I was given a room on the third floor that shared a thin wall with the ice machine (Ice machine sounded like it was in my living room wall). You could hear people getting ice from the bedroom with the door closed! On my second night stay, it was around 7:30-8:00 while I was laying in bed, someone with a key to my room tired to enter(Entry failed due to engaging the deadbolt before laying down)! Could this have been a double booking? Late house keeping maybe? No matter the explanation, I find it completely unacceptable as I was left shaking and questioning my safety in the room for the night. When I tried calling the front desk on the room phone, I was met with a continuous message stating the phone was “to be inspected.” Upon trying to call the front desk from my mobile phone, I was unable to get through to anyone. Unfortunately with it being late and me having to wake up early, I put a chair in front of the door and went to bed. Upon confronting the front desk staff about the incident, I was met with an apology and reprogramming my room key. Nothing came of the situation until the manager was involved.
