Stayed for a business trip to Palm Springs. It's a cute motel conversion, with clean, spacious rooms, comfy beds, and a great shower.
Unfortunately, the experience of staying was let down by the hotel's system for managing guests on site and the check-in/out process. There is no one at reception between 8 PM and 8 AM, which is pretty ridiculous, and if you are like me and trying to check in or out in this window, you have to do everything online.
That wouldn't be a problem, but I had booked several rooms for colleagues, so I ended up having to call the hotel to get everyone sent check-in links, then had to do the online check-in and while it only took 10-15 minutes to deal with, I was in Palm Springs on a really challenging work project, and taking that time out of my day just added to my stress.
Since I had to leave the hotel before 8 AM, I needed to do online checkout, and the link they sent didn't work, so I had to text with the hotel about it, again taking time out of my busy day. I also asked for a receipt, which never came.
Hotel charges $15 for parking, which is essentially a cramped, exposed space along the street-- pretty insulting to have to pay for that on top of the room charge, as my car may as well have been parked on the street. I also wonder what would have happened if I ran into an issue trying to get into my room with the code provided, with no one on site to support.
I stay at a hotel for convenience for business, and The Cole did not deliver.
