I recently stayed at the Best Western Seven Seas in San Diego, and unfortunately, my experience fell well below expectations, especially compared to other Best Western locations I’ve previously visited.
Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed several cleanliness and maintenance issues. The chair at the desk had not been cleaned and another chair near the door had a visible hole in it. The room was extremely dusty, and the carpet had multiple dark spots throughout. There was a persistent strange odor in the room, and both the bedding and towels, though white, were visibly stained, as was the shower curtain. In addition, the bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut unless pushed with full body weight, and water still ended up on the bathroom floor even with the curtain in place.
The mini fridge was not turned on prior to our arrival so items could not be placed in at our arrival, which was inconvenient, and several electrical outlets in the room did not work. Trash cans were provided, but none were lined with trash bags. Basic amenities such as towels I was told via text had to be picked up at the front desk, but when I got to the desk they said only pool towels, miscommunication may for an unwanted trip to the front for no reason, they did end up delivering them, but I had to wait in my room for them to get to me, even though I was ready to leave.
