We had a great stay a La Fortezza. On arrival we were greeted by Elisabeth, who was very kind and so helpful later when we had an issue with the door handle in the bathroom and were locked out of it (with all our toiletries inside). The issue was solved quickly and we even got complimentary breakfast. So glad we ended up having breakfast at the hotel instead of eating out! The breakfast menu was varied. I eat dairy free and gluten free and I felt so spoiled. They had packaged Scharr bread and crackers, but the lovely Caterina baked a cake for me on the second day. In addition to the American coffee available in the buffet, Patrick brings delicious cappuccinos to the table (non-dairy options available).
Elisabeth was also very helpful, went out of her way to arrange delivery of the shoes my son forgot in the room.
The room itself is spacious, there is a small fridge and a wine opener. Good shower, hot water readily available. Decorations are plain, nothing fancy but great for our needs.
Location: we walked from the train station, took about 15 min. There are buses to the city centre but we walked and took us around 20 min. Pleasant walk, all flat.
We would not hesitate to stay there again.
