My son and I had a traumatic experience here.
I initially booked through Expedia, & paid at the hotel upon arrival.I had a 930 appt at USCIS the following day, wc unfortunately, ran late. When I was able to check my phone at 1220, I had several missed calls from my 16 year old son, & the hotel. As a background, my 16 year old has High Functioning Autism, with major social anxiety, which is why he decided to stay in the hotel with our little bichon.
I immediately called my son & he was hysterical. He told me that the Housekeeping staff and front desk staff were forcing him and our dog out - not in the lobby, but out in the 95° LA heat. I rushed back to the hotel, and got there in time - while they were being led out. I settled them in our car, and I went back to the hotel to talk with the staff. I asked them why they couldn't just have charged my card for an additional day. They told me they couldn't because I booked through a third party, Expedia. Then I asked them why they couldn't have made concessions, considering my son is a minor who clearly started having a panic attack when they came in the room. The receptionist acknowledged that they could barely get a word out from my son because he was hyperventilating and was clearly going through a psychiatric breakdown then. But instead, they still forced him & the dog out because according to them, it was "POLICY", and they needed to clean the room. Housekeeping was mean &showed no sympathy and concern. It was awful.
