Zurich is a delightful city with excellent standards. It doesn't attract hordes of tourists. It's an excellent base for exploring Switzerland & getting to ski areas, including in Austria. It's expensive but shopping in supermarkets can offset that.

Zurich is a beautiful relaxing clean safe city. It is so tranquil. The river and scenery are exceptional. There is a lovely Park walk that goes on for miles and it is just breathtaking looking at the river and the mountains. What a lovely clean city.

Zurich felt very safe and the setting is beautiful. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from and lots of high-end shopping, too. I expected food and drinks to be pricier than other European cities I visited, but I was still surprised.

Zurich surprised us. This was intended as a short stop between Vienna and Dijon but the city has lovely museums and shopping and is not crowded with tourists (unlike both Vienna and Paris). We had excellent food. We would definitely return.

Some reviews we read about Zurich was that it was more expensive, yes, but not by much from the other areas. We also read that Zurich was 2 days tops. We were there for 1 1/2 days and wish we had at least another day to explore.

We happened to arrive the first day of the Christmas markets opening and it happened to be the first snowfall of the season. The area was bright and vibrant, everyone was in a festive mood. A true winter wonderland!!

Zurich is one of the most beautiful places in Europe! Very clean, safe and so much to see. It is incredibly expensive though so be prepared if you go. $40 for two people to eat at McDonalds. :-0

Zurich is an expensive city, easy to walk around and with great public transportation. Don't miss the opportunity to get out of town. It's a completely different experience in the country side.

I love Zuerich, beautiful and so clean. The public transport is excellent too. Having fondue in one of the many Swiss cuisine restaurants is a must.
"Had a great experience here with my family! Staff was great and very helpful. Room was new and clean. Gym also had enough equipment for a quick workout. Thank you!!"
"Great Hotel, very convenient for travel and easily walkable to many parts of the city and shopping districts with great transport links. Staff are friendly and helpful too. "
"Great hotel comfordable beds quiet rooms, good restaurant and bar, walking distance from train station shopping and attractions enjoy Zurich staying in this hotel"
"The hotel is very nice when you enter and the room was pleasant too. I liked the fact that we had a kettle in our room and the reception staff were happy to provide English Breakfast teabags for me to use in the room.
We also got a dressing gown and slippers which we were able to use to go down to the pool in. The pool and sundeck was an added bonus for our stay. It was nice to have a swim and then relax after a busy day out and about.
The location was easy to get to via tram from the station, just needed to take number 3. The stadium is only a couple of minutes walk which was also helpful. There was also a fridge in the room, which again was another bonus. We didn't have breakfast (as it was quite expensive) so can't comment on the restaurant facilities but apart from that, great hotel, great reception area to sit and nice comfortable beds. Quite, dark rooms, great!"
"Our family had a lovely stay at Placid Hotel in Zurich. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We dined at the hotel restaurant and it was delicious. So was the breakfast in the morning. The staff was kind enough to explain how to use Zurich's public transportation, so we used the tram and bus system to visit several sites around the city. "
