We recently stayed at The Southgate Hotel and appreciated its excellent location near the Tube station and the overall cleanliness of the property. The room was well-kept and met our basic needs for a comfortable London stay.
However, there were a few issues that impacted our experience. We booked a Deluxe King room, but the bed was closer to a full or queen size, which was uncomfortable for my taller companion. Upon checkout, I mentioned this to the front desk, but the response was dismissive, insisting that it was a king. We also encountered a persistent dripping noise from the shower drain on our second night, which made it difficult to sleep despite our efforts to stop it.
Additionally, when our room was cleaned after the first night, we were only given one replacement towel, meaning one of us had to make do with smaller towels.
Finally, I’ve yet to receive confirmation of my deposit refund from my bank, which has left me feeling uneasy.
Overall, The Southgate Hotel is a clean and convenient option for travelers, but I believe customer service has room for improvement. I hope to see a quick resolution to my deposit refund and appreciate your attention to these matters.
