10 minutes waiting for the elevator! 3 Elevators, 2 didn`t work. My 12 years old son got locked in! Door lock at my room didn`t work. They had to change it. Dirty carpet in the room. I asked for the Metro connection to the airport... Info at the front desk: "I am not from New York". Had to pay extra to get my check in 1 hour earlier. Roof Top bar does not exist!

Totalt under all kritik – välj ett annat hotell! Vi bodde på The Washington by LuxUrban i 7 dagar och är väldigt besvikna. Servicen var usel från början – rummet saknade grundläggande bekvämligheter som handtvål, dricksglas och vattenkokare. Vi fick be flera gånger för att få schampo och handdukar, vilket borde vara självklart. Personalen i receptionen var arroganta och inte hjälpsamma när vi ställde frågor. Städarna försökte komma in i vårt rum genom rummet bredvid och väckte oss alltid runt 8.30, även om vi ibland glömde sätta upp skylten. Men den tiden är ändå väldigt tidigt, och vi kände oss stressade varje gång. Den enda fördelen med boendet var dess centrala läge, men det räcker inte för att rättfärdiga den dåliga servicen och obehagliga upplevelsen. Jag skulle starkt rekommendera att man väljer ett annat hotell om man vill ha en bekväm och avslappnad vistelse i New York.

Nonexistent customer service in filthy hotel

The staff of this hotel seem to not have gotten the memo that they are employees. They laugh, joke, around play really loud, personal hip-hop music, never agreed to guests and when asked something almost always respond with its not their responsibility or just no. The staff here gave me two rooms that were not set up for guests, leaving me to lug my luggage to three rooms after a long international flight with no apology. The state of the rooms and hotel is abysmal. There’s only one working elevator, which leaves very long cues. Room service only makes the bed and does not actually clean the room. After a 10 day stay, I was absolutely disgusted to shower or even walk in my room. They also do not give you towels, shampoo or soap and unless you explicitly and repeatedly ask for it. There were unexplained brown, smears all over the wall. Location is good near multiple subways and bed was comfortable

Painfully outdated.

This hotel needs a facelift. Ratty towels and don't expect more than one!, crazy lighting, no bar, no patio, no clock in the room, lumpy pillows and the AC didn't work, room was a sauna.

Go Elsewhere!!!!!

Checked in, no towels or kleenex. Took 2 calls to get towels. Never got kleenex. TP and towel racks loose on wall. Broken light in bathroom not fixed despite request. Desk in room greasy with spots of something sticky. No cups or glasses of any kind (even disposable) in room. 2 of 3 elevators broken, so super long waits to get up or down. Ice machine broken. Was told to try other floors (but that takes forever w/broken elevators!) Rude, unhelpful staff.

Recommended

We liked our room a lot. But the room views vary so be aware. Our biggest disappointment was there is no hot coffee in the room or hotel. This area in WTC is very convenient and safe, and less touristed than much of Manhattan.

In decline…

I read that this hotel had elevator issues and had “fallen” in quality. Since I have accessibility issues I contacted the hotel before arrival. They assured me the elevators had been repaired. 1/3 elevators to the 5th floor and from 5-30 in working order. The room? Dismal, poorly maintained, cheap amenities, with housekeeping banging in the door at 8:00AM regardless of whether or not “do not disturb” was displayed. My phone had higher internet service. #neveragain!

They didn’t have any bath towels. When I called the front desk they said the delivery hadn’t come yet and it was 8 am. I needed to leave for a meeting so I had to air dry.

Convenient location, not worth the price

It was nearly 2:00 when I arrived on a very rainy day after a long trip, and the front desk wanted to charge $50 for early check-in. In fairness, check-in is at 3:00, but under the circumstances and given the timing, that was a ridiculous price and not something that a good hotel would normally impose. Ultimately, they waived the fee and allowed us into our room early because the rooms had no towels (and we were told they wouldn't until 6:00). We therefore couldn't even dry our hands as we got ready to go. After an evening event, there were towels, but we never received washcloths. Only one elevator worked out of three, adding a lot of time to simply getting in and out of the hotel. One set of blinds didn't fully cover the window. Overall, it seemed like every effort was made to cut costs while still charging a lot, which made the experience more off-putting than it needed to be.

Comfy bed, great view, lacking basics for price

Comfy beds. Mold in bathroom shower, no tissue, and only one bath towel (no wash cloths or hand towels), no ice buckets. No one was at reception and I had to wait to check in. Elevator repairs are needed.

Stay elsewhere.....

I never write negative reviews because I understand and respect the service industry. However upon arrival at The Washington my experience was subpar. I was initially given a room and upon entering I immediately realized that the bed had not ben made. I simply went to the from desk and told them that the room wasn't ready for me.I was told that the entire building was waiting on linen. I had dinner reservations for 7 and did not get towels till 6:45 pm. I noticed that the a/c was not working and informed the front desk. An engineer came twice both visits were unsuccessful in repairing the unit. I was told that because there wasn't a large demand (other rooms utilizing the a/c), the main unit kept shutting off and would not work to supply just one room. I know for a fact that isn't how HVAC works. I was told "I can recommend that you crack the window". After the whole inconvenience I requested a late check out and was given an hour, that which while showering, housekeeping banged on my door and condesendinly yelled and pointed to their phone, to indicate the time, Overall, the staff was very unprofessional, poorly dressed, the conditions of the room are nowhere how they're advertised. I paid a pretty decent amount for poor service.

I really like this hotel, but they seem to be having some service issues. There were no towels in our room when we arrived. Also, there were some issues with the elevators. Finally, the lighting in the bathroom is awful and we could not close the slide door between the room and bathroom. Not sure if I will stay here again.

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at

One of the WORST hotels that I have ever stayed at. I think that the lift situation is illegal. I spoke to multiple staff members who said that all lifts have been down for nearly 3 months. It is incredibly dangerous that there is only 1 working service lift to serve the entire building guests and staff. My room smelled of damp and didn't even have any soap. There was a hole in my sheets on my bed. Overall AWFUL experience. Do not stay here.

sehr gut

Sehr gut gelegenes Hotel mit netten Zimmern und hilfsbereitem Personal. Die Aufzüge waren leider kaputt und der einzige funktionierende Personalaufzug war meist überlastet. Aber die werden sicher irgendwann repariert.
