Would Stay Again
Super location in the centre of Harrogate. Reasonably priced as it included a buffet-style English breakfast with a good selection. It was held in a massive Victorian dining room which added a nice ambience. The bedroom itself was a little tired although the bathroom was just fine. A slight oddity was that the double bed was fixed against the wall meaning one person didn’t have a bedside table and had to scramble over t’other! We had the regular afternoon tea which was very good; we sat on the stools (actually comfortable, normally I would avoid) near the window watching the world go by. Would stay again.

Was very annoyed that I couldn’t book parking when I rang hotel prior to my stay. On arrival there were spaces however I was told they had been pre booked by customers How does that work ???

Cold shower
We love Harrogate and have stayed many times this was our first visit too the crown hotel it was what we’d expect from a very old building the Churchill restaurant was lovely and the reception room was nice and roomy our room was dated and basic but adequate for our needs however the shower and bath were dreadful as the shower didn’t get hot it was only aired then ran cold also the bath water wasn’t hot but the sink water was hotter for some strange reason anyway we reported it and we’re told that maintenance would look at it the next day however the shower was no different on our second evening so not a very good break as a hot shower should be high on a hotel priority list

A perfect historic base
Great old style hotel. Wonderful breakfast rooms, welcoming with amazing Christmas decorations. Large comfortable room, seating area , large shower all spotlessly clean. Would stay again

Fantastic and will return
Fantastic hotel and perfect location. Big thanks to Phoebe for helping to facilitate our return. The breakfast was good quality with excellent service. Our room was clean, tidy and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. A little surprised that there was no bottled water in the room as majority of hotels offer this as a minimal, however I still rate the hotel five star overall. Will defiantly be returning.

Tired and drab Hotel
This is a tired hotel, that is in need of some general maintenance and modification, the foyer is very nice and welcoming, but beyond that things start to slide downhill rapidly, the lighting in the room was dull and didn't give a welcoming feel to the room at all, there were very few plug sockets in the room to the point you had to choose between fridge or kettle as both couldn't be used at the same time, no plug sockets either side of the bed, one of the plug sockets on the wall was loose so didn't use that, mould spots in the sealant around the bath. The complimentary beverages provided seemed to be limited to 2 standard coffees 2 decaf coffees and 2 standard tea bags and 2 flavoured teas. 4 white sugar 4 brown sugar and 4 sweeteners,and milk no bottled water. On the stairwell up to the first floor there was a piece of chewing gum trodden into the carpet and remained there for the duration of our stay. Parking is limited and charged didn't see any priority disabled parking. There is parking off site if your lucky enough to find a space in the Montpellier car park it cost us £13.20 per 24 hour and is only a short distance from the hotel. A fantastic 2 night stay
Really comfortable, clean & warm. The staff went out of their way to make sure we received what we had asked for - so many, many thanks. The food at breakfast was really nice & the evening meal was simply fantastic. Compliments to all. The starters & the sweets were fantastic - but I have no words to describe the Shoulder of Lamb meal - the taste was the best we have ever had anywhere. If I had to eat this meal every night for a week - then that would be the best thing ever!! It really was the best - so many thanks. The staff work really hard but an extra member of staff on the bar could be a good idea in the early evening. Also, I know the hotel is very old but perhaps something could be done about some of the squeaky floorboards, these are very noticeable when you are trying to be quiet in the night. Your staff are really lovely & nothing was too much trouble. My nearly 86 year old Mum & myself were able to share in some very precious memories during our two night stay in your lovely hotel. Thank you, everyone
