December Couples Trip
Overall we really enjoyed our trip to Lopesan Costa Bavaro! The hotel is beautiful and they do a nice job with keeping the grounds clean! We upgraded to the Unique Club and felt it was worthwhile for the small difference in cost. We ate breakfast and lunch at the Unique Club by the beach everyday - enjoying the view of the ocean while we ate. The food choices were great at the Unique Club - I was able to each fairly healthy with omelettes and grilled chicken salads at lunch. My husband enjoyed the filet/steak options too on the grill.
The restaurants were all pretty good and had decent portion sizes. The steakhouse was really good and liked that it was for adults only.
We read reviews about the poor service, and were a little nervous about that. We felt that we had great service overall! Our butler was Isaury and more than willing to help us book our dinner reservations and went above and beyond to help me organize a dessert surprise for my hubby's bday.
We really enjoyed the drinks at the Unique Club bar - they were definitely better than the drinks we got at other outdoor bars on the property. We loved the lobby bar in the evening with a drink before or after our dinner. Shout out to Katherine and Franklin at that bar for being so pleasant and service oriented!
Our on only cons were:
1 - lack of a swim up pool bar (which we knew when we booked)
2 - Spotty service for drinks around the pool
3 - Night entertainment started late and they canceled some during stay
